Absolutley top. Been to chinese restauants around the globe and strangely enough, in Rome, in a quaint un-touristic part of the city you find this place. Remarkable. Dumplings are properly textured and well executed. Regretfully i cannot share the menu sequence (which merits various revisitis) because i was a guest of regulars who chose all menu items. Anyway, anyhow, if u want a chinese asian taste with some perculiar presevation of primary/raw ingredients, this place scores high. (My photos suck in comparison to the real stuff)

Très chic! The location is very stylish and exclusive, the interior design is researched just like the menu. Authentic Chinese cuisine with a modern twist. It’s probably the best Chinese I EVER had in Rome. The mixed seafood dim sum is to die for and it’s a must try if you go there. The service is kind and very attentive. I will definitely recommend.

Main dishes are delicious. The dim sum really leaves a lot to be desired. I saw the other review saying it tasted like northern people making southern cuisine and thought it was harsh. But after trying it. I fully agree. I lived in China for many years in Guangdong and well.... Just don't get too much dim sum.

Celebrated our 20th anniversary here. Good ambiance. They have very authentic Chinese Cuisine. So good I think I’m about to dream of it tonight.. We tried baozi, involtini, spaghetti di soia and pancetta con salsa (really melts in your mouth) they served it with steamed buns and we really loved it. The mango cheesecake was also good. They also have very nice and accommodating staffs. I greatly recommend it to everyone.

For Rome, this is excellent. However, it needs to be said that Italy seems to relate to Asian food as fine dining and here the dim sum items (yum cha) are offered as antipasti (appetizers). Primi dishes are fried rice, beef fried rice noodles, or fried chow mein. Secondi are stir-fried meat, chicken or fish. The flavours and textures are right, but the execution is on the small-and-expensive side. Go with these expectations and you'll be fine. It's a lovely place for dinner with a date or friends, in an elegant setting and a Chinese pipa guitarist playing at the entrance. Best to make reservations if you're going on a Friday or Saturday night. It was really lovely experience despite the small plate sizes.

Oh so delish! My husband and I had black dumplings, beef broth noodles, crispy beef, and a stir fried rice including mango cheesecake. They were all scrumptious. Everyone was so kind and attentive. We loved our positive experience at Dao. We plan to come again. Thank you.
